ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Boys and Girls Clubs are teaming up with Staples stores to make sure local students have supplies when the first bell of the school year rings this fall.

Stapes started taking school supply donations at stores in the Albuquerque metropolitan area Sunday. The campaign will continue through Sept. 19.

Staples will turn the donations over to the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho Boys and Girls Clubs.

The clubs will give them to kids whose families can't afford to buy them.

"With the economic times that we are going through right now, there are a lot of families out there that are in need of school supplies, school clothes and that's where Staples is coming in to help us out," Rene Clark with the Boys and Girls Clubs said.

You can also make cash donations by calling 881-0777.
