DA: No crime as teacher dragged student

SANTA FE (KRQE) - A special-education teacher in Santa Fe caught on camera dragging a blind special-needs student down a hallway will not face charges.

The video from last month shows the Gonzales Community School teacher grab the 6-year-old's ankle and pull him.

The teacher told police he wasn't cooperating when she asked him to walk to another classroom, but she says she wasn't trying to hurt him.

The teacher was put on leave.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, District Attorney Angela "Spence" Pacheco said although the video of the incident was quote "distasteful," there was no evidence the teacher harmed or intended to harm the child.
