The Albuquerque campus of the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired will soon have a new fence to help keep crooks out.
The school has been victimized by vandals and thieves who have been damaging cars, windows, signs and even the playground since opening in 2010.
On Tuesday Bernalillo County commissioners approved $50,000 for a wrought iron fence.
This is in addition to $100,000 from the Albuquerque City Council and the state. City dollars still need to be approved.
The total cost of the fence is around $250,000.
