LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A woman who told police she was trying to retrieve a stolen mobile media player is charged with stabbing a man who remains in the hospital, Los Lunas police reported Tuesday.
Andrea Artiaga, 37, was booked into the Valencia County Adult Detention Center under a $15,000 bond and charged with aggravated battery and tampering with evidence. Both charges are felonies.
Police quoted Artiaga as saying she went to the home of Jason Shadron at 411 Girón Drive because she believed he had stolen an iPod Touch from her home earlier in the day. A fight ensued and she grabbed a large knife, which she swung striking Shadron once in the abdomen, according to police.
Shadron is reported to be in stable condition at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, police said.
