ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It's been almost a year since police rushed Chee Livingston's apartment moments after he allegedly slit the throat of his 2-year-old daughter and his girlfriend, the girl's mother.
Now, for the first time, we are seeing the officers’ reaction.
A warning the video is graphic.
“We are going to take care of you, alright. It's what we are here to do, OK?” the officer tells the mother as she holds her bleeding daughter tight.
Other officers found Livingston covered in his own blood on the kitchen floor.
The mother's throat had also been cut, but not as badly as her daughters.
The officer tells the mother, “You got to stay strong for her, let's stay strong for her she's doing fine.”
The mother tells officers, “I have another daughter too. She’s.. She's… she's pretty shaken up.”
That other daughter is a little bit older and she was the first to alert neighbors something was wrong.
The mother told police Livingston had been playing a samurai video game for hours and drinking beer. She says just before 1 am, he came into bedroom where she and the 2-year-old were sleeping and suddenly attacked.
Both the girl and mother have recovered. Livingston is in jail, charged with attempted murder.
