Albuquerue, N.M. (KRQE) - The cameras are everywhere, catching just about everything even from above.
From their chopper Thursday night, Albuquerque police tracked a stolen truck on InterstateI 25. When police found out who they were dealing with, it was a huge surprise.
The infrared video shows it all: a truck heading down I-25 with glowing tires. It's hot all right, in more than one way -- it's stolen.
Albuquerque police say they saw the truck leaving a motel by the Big I. Officers called in air support after the driver didn't pull over when a cop on the ground tried to stop it.
Police followed the truck a couple of miles north on the freeway until it pulled into a motel near Montaño Road NE.
The suspects scattered heading around the building and up three flights of stairs. Police were able to nab all four of them.
But they weren't your average criminals. All were women, and some were Albuquerque's most wanted thieves.
Suspect Jessica Rivera was on the city's list of most-wanted property crime offenders just last month.
"Just because they're women doesn't mean they're not dangerous. They're very dangerous," said an undercover APD officer. "Our top property-crime offenders. And if they're out there, they're gong to break into your homes or your cars."
APD said all four suspects had heroin and meth on them during this latest bust. It's a habit police say is supported by their other habit of stealing cars and breaking into homes.
