Valencia Co. burglary suspects arrested

LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A pair of burglary suspects crashed Thursday afternoon while trying to get away from New Mexico State Police.

According to State Police, two people burglarized a home on State Road 47 in Valencia County around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say the two took off, just as the homeowners returned to the house.

The suspects fled the home speeding right past a State Police officer and then through a red light.

They collided with another car at NM47 at the North El Cerro Loop.

The driver was ejected and transported to UNM Hospital in serious condition.

State Police handed the passenger, who was not hurt, over to the Valencia County Sheriff's Department who arrested him on burglary charges.

Police say no one in the other vehicle was seriously injured.
