ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The woman, police say confessed to suffocating her son and burying his body in the playground of a city park, entered a guilty plea Monday
Tiffany Toribio was in court Monday for some motions, but then decided to plead guilty to negligent child abuse resulting in death and second degree murder.
It was in May 2009 that Toribio smothered her 3-year-old son Ty then buried him in Alvarado Park.
Toribio had previously pleaded guilty but mentally ill.
She was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
