HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) - The murder trial for a Hobbs teenager charged with stabbing a woman will have to be scheduled for a fourth time.
Juan Rivas Jr. was scheduled to face a jury this week, but the chief deputy district attorney says the defense requested more time to meet with an expert witnesses.
Rivas, 16, is accused of breaking into an elderly victim's home last July and stabbing her in her bed.
He then allegedly took off with her car, which is how police tracked him down.
A new trial date has not been set.
