ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque police say a man wanted for pulling a gun on officers over the weekend is now dead by his own hand.

Police say Carlos Crespín, 33, was in a car and pointed a gun at them during a gang sweep Saturday night. He got away after a chase.

On Monday afternoon police tracked Crespín to the Rodeway Inn near on Menaul Boulevard NE and Princeton Avenue.

He barricaded himself inside for five hours, but when SWAT officers entered his room they found him dead from a gunshot wound.

Menaul was closed near the hotel from about 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
