TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) - Authorities have made a second arrest in connection to a murder at an old New Mexico convent.

William "Boxcar Red" Smith was taken into custody Thursday in Santa Fe right before he was about to illegally board a train

They suspect he was getting ready to run.

Smith allegedly helped Deborah Jaramillo murder Christopher Payton in August at the old Holy Cross Convent building.

Jaramillo was arrested earlier this week in Durango.

After the murder the building was set on fire.

A motive for the murder is unknown.
