ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man involved in a SWAT situation that ended with him taking off in a stolen car, that he tried to ram officers with, was arrested just after midnight Thursday.
Chris Sosa was booked into the Metro Detention Center Thursday morning, after yet another lengthy standoff.
Police describe Sosa as "defiant" and on his way to becoming a career criminal if he doesn't change his ways.
Sosa, 20, had been evading police even before Monday night's SWAT standoff, when he escaped the home he was in by driving out of that residence in the homeowner’s car.
He had three felony warrants for his arrest, armed robbery and two stolen vehicle warrants.
When police caught up with him Wednesday night at a friend's home in southeast Albuquerque, the APD SWAT team set up a perimeter around the home where he was at last night and Sosa and a friend again refused to come outside for several hours.
Sosa and his friend were finally forced out of the home by the swat team and arrested.
"I came home at 11 p.m., they had streets blocked off about 15 different types of cars,” Richard Martin said. "It’s a good thing they got the thing they got the guy, you know what I mean? You don't want crazy people running around. The police did there job and caught the guy. That's what makes me happy that police are doing their job."
That friend, Memorie Hernandez, was also arrested, charged with two counts of harboring and aiding a felon.
Police say she was also there Monday night and lied to police about his whereabouts.
Sosa is charged with aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault on a police officer.
