ALBUQUERQUE, NM {KRQE} - Paul Aitken is in the business of partying.
“I like to party,” the University of New Mexico (UNM) Senior said. But, he may have just come up with an idea to party hard but save lives. Aitken is the mastermind behind " The Trolley ."
The party bus can hold up to 25 people and would travel up to two miles from UNM picking up bar goers in Nob Hill and Downtown.
“Here you can go from your house to another person's house, lets say pregame or whatever, and then if you want to go out to the bar we can take you there as well,” said Aitken.
You may say why not just take the city bus? Aitken said before investing in the trolley he asked bar goers why they don't use the rapid ride that runs down central until two am. He said most claimed the bus made them feel unsafe.
Aitken said his trolley service will offer the fun and safety the city bus can't, and all for 5 bucks. He said they want to have multiple buses running by next semester.
The service wouldn't just be for students, but for any bar goer. Aitken said his main mission is to stop DWI’s while keeping the party going. The plan is to have the trolley up and running on Cinco de Mayo. You can contact the service by texting 505-433-7386 or on their facebook page .
