ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque police say they had to call in the SWAT team to deal with a man they described as being dangerous.

Around 6 p.m. Tuesday officers with the Repeat Offender Program attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Adrian Montalvo for allegedly violating his probation.

Instead Montalvo, 36, refused to come out of an apartment in the 2600 block of Americare Court NW near Ouray Road and Coors Boulevard.

The SWAT team was then called out because Montalvo's criminal history includes aggravated battery and aggravated assault on an officer, according to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson.

Officers eventually threw a "diversionary device" into the apartment.  Montalvo then came out and was arrested without incident, the spokesman said.
