SANTA FE (KRQE) - Another of the cars an organized gang stole from a Santa Fe dealership has been found crushed against a building.
Whoever crashed it into a consignment shop on Cerrillos Road just before dawn Wednesday may have been a deliberate attempt to burglarize the business police said.
The driver, however, fled without getting anything.
It was one of five vehicles stolen overnight Monday .
A patrol officer spotted one of them right away and tried to stop it. That driver ditched the car south of the city after a chase on Interstate 25 and escaped on foot.
Police are looking hard for these guys.
"Definitely individuals we want to get right away," said Capt. Aric Wheeler of the Santa Fe Police Department. "It's one of those situations we're not positive how many people were involved in this. It's obvious there were several players moving the cars."
Detectives are checking surveillance video from the consignment shop for possible leads.
