A wild joy ride came to an abrupt end Friday morning in a neighborhood on Constitution Avenue NE where the passenger and driver were arrested with the help of a witness.
The excitement began about 6:45 a.m. when the witness said he saw a black Nissan Sentra come flying down Constitution and out of traffic near Juan Tabo Boulevard.
It jumped the curb taking out a mailbox, landscaping and a utility pole guy wire before wedging against a block fence.

The witness told KRQE News 13 he spotted a couple, who looked like they were in their 20s, throw a pair of backpacks out and walk away toward a nearby cul-de-sac.
He called police and ID'ed the duo.
Police said both were arrested; their names and charges have not yet been released.
The wrecked sedan had been reported stolen although it's not known how long ago.
The car was towed leaving behind a big mess with oil spilled out on the sidewalk.
There is no word yet on the contents of the backpacks or an estimate of the damages.
