ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) - The trial is under way for a woman involved in a 16-hour standoff with police in Otero County three years ago.
Inga Gutierrez is charged with eight counts of second-degree felony assault on a peace officer and various bomb charges, according to the Alamogordo Daily News.
The charges stem from a 2009 standoff that started after sheriff's deputies tried to serve an eviction notice. Gutierrez's husband Miguel was found shot to death.
That was ruled a suicide.
Inga was found in the residence heavily armed and wearing body armor.
