ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A stabbing case has taken a strange twist with Albuquerque police now saying the victim actually stabbed herself.

The stabbing was reported Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Cardenas Avenue NE.

Theresa Salazar's boyfriend was charged with stabbing her in the stomach. But now it's Salazar facing charges of battery on a household member and false imprisonment.

She is expected to recover from her injuries.

Charges against her boyfriend, Eddie Chavez, 20, have been dropped.
