LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - An argument over a dog left a 56-year-old man dead and his son charged with murder, the Valencia County Sheriff's Office reports.
Officers were called early New Year's morning to a home on Juniper Road in the Las Maravillas area east of Los Lunas.
Sheriff's investigators report Michael Wrobel, 23, got into an argument with his father, Henry Wrobel, over the elder Wrobel's dog.
The father was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead while the son was booked into the Valencia County jail on an open count of murder.
Medical investigators are determining the cause of death, but the sheriff says it appears no weapons were involved.
