SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A suspected serial bank robber in New Mexico who federal agents believed robbed four banks without saying a word has been arrested.
FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said 23-year-old Jaime Jesus Sanchez-Ramos was arrested Tuesday after authorities sent out images of a suspect during a media campaign.
Fisher said authorities believe Sanchez-Ramos is connected to at least four Santa Fe bank robberies . In those robberies, the suspect struck banks armed with a handgun but didn't speak to bank workers.
Fisher said in each case the suspect escaped with a significant amount of money. He said the suspect is described as wearing a denim jacket with a white fleece collar.
Sanchez-Ramos is slated Wednesday to appear U.S. District Court. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
