ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - One of New Mexico’s most popular casinos became a crime scene overnight.
One person was shot, when gunshots broke out inside the parking garage at the Sandia Casino north of Albuquerque.
The Sandia Pueblo is not saying much about this.
As of 6:30 Tuesday morning, a suspect was still on the run.
In a press release issued around 9 a.m., the pueblo made no mention of a suspect.
They confirm that an incident took place in the parking garage underneath the casino around 3 a.m., where one person was shot.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, but their condition was not listed.
A Sandia security officer says that the casino and it's parking lots were open throughout the morning, with guests being allowed to come and go.
There was only one portion within the crime scene in the garage that was closed off.
According to the pueblo, Sandia police and the FBI are working the case.
At this point the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.
It is not known if the victim or the suspect were visitors or employees.
A marketing group hired by the pueblo would not provide further comment.
In Tuesday morning's news release, Sandia Pueblo Governor Victor Montoya said guest and employee safety is their number one concern.
The casino resumed normal business operations at 8 o’clock Tuesday morning.
