Shelter workers spot alleged child abuse

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A mother has been arrested for allegedly abusing her three kids after workers at an Albuquerque homeless shelter became suspicious.
Employees at Joy Junction called police after noticing Doralee Salas' three kids had bruises all over their bodies.
The criminal complaint says one child told authorities his mom punched him for fighting with his brother. Another child had a burn mark on his forearm that looked like it was from a lighter.
Salas, 29, told police she gets mad at one of her sons and hits him, but only if he hits her first, police said.
