ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque attorney charged with shooting a homeless man at his law office earlier this week faced a judge Thursday.
David "Chip" Venie is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
On Tuesday, according to police, Venie and Stephen Biddinger argued over Biddinger's body odor.
According to the criminal complaint, Venie claims he repeatedly told Biddinger to leave or he would shoot him.
When Biddinger refused, Venie shot him in the leg. Biddinger claims he never had a chance to argue.
On Thursday the judge continued Venie's $25,000 bond.
Venie's attorney said he expects his client to be exonerated because Venie was protecting himself, his wife and his staff.
