SANTA FE (KRQE) - Things did not go as expected for an armed robber that held up a Santa Fe pharmacy.
A surveillance video shows the suspect walking into the Wiley Chemists Pharmacy on hospital drive around 4:30 Monday afternoon.
Officials say he pulled a gun on the pharmacist and demanded oxycodone.
When the pharmacist insisted they didn't have any, the suspect got upset, told him he had back-up waiting for him outside, then left.
But the pharmacist, Bruce Bowman, followed him and pulled out his gun.
Bowman says there was no back-up and made sure the guy left the property.
He says he was prepared to protect his staff.
”Something clicked inside my mind and i was going to protect my crew. I was not frightened," Bowman said.
The suspect is still on the loose.
If you know who he is, call Santa Fe police.
