Santa Fe cop accused of beating wife

SANTA FE (KRQE) - A Santa Fe police officer has been arrested for roughing up his wife.
Sheriff's deputies say Jon Lopez, 30, accused his wife of cheating and got into a verbal fight with her Sunday, which then turned physical.
He allegedly pushed her to the ground twice and wouldn't leave the home until she promised to not call police.
Lopez is charged with battery on a household member and interfering with communications.
The three-year veteran of the department has been put on administrative leave.
