RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - Police are looking for help in locating a Rio Rancho woman who disappeared last month two weeks before her abandoned car was found.
The last known sighting of Brenda Salas, 27, was on June 13 at about 10:30 a.m. at the Walmart store in the 900 block of Unser Boulevard.
Her car was found on June 29 at about 9 p.m. in the open mesa west of Rio Rancho near the intersection of Frost and Encino roads.
Sandoval County sheriff's deputies search the vicinity but did not locate Salas. That leads investigators to believe she got a ride out of the area.
Salas is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a gray Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt, blue jeans and white or possibly black Skechers shoes.
Anyone with information of Salas or her whereabouts can contact Rio Rancho Detective Foster at (505) 891-5952, Rio Rancho Police dispatch at (505) 891-7226 or the Albuquerque Police Department at 242-COPS (242-2677).
