ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - There is a now $1,000 reward for information leading to the thieves who took parts from a historic steam locomotive being restored in Albuquerque.
On July 16 four suspects were caught on surveillance video breaking into a lot off Eighth Street NW south of Interstate 40 where the locomotive was housed.
They got in by cutting a hole in the chain-link fence and then took off in a white, unmarked van.
They stole the original break beams and brackets from the 1944 locomotive.
Not only are they worth of a lot of money, they are irreplaceable.
