ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A retired lawyer living in Santa Fe pleaded guilty Monday to receiving child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
Robert Warren, 70, was indicted in July 2009 on seven counts of receiving and possession child porn after agents searched his home and seized a computer and external drive. The hardware contained 26 videos and 2,600 photos of sex acts involving children, according to the indictment.
Warren could have face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts. As part of a plea agreement, however, federal prosecutors said they would recommend a sentence of at least five years but no more than nine.
Warren also would be required to register as a sex offender on his release.
A sentencing date has not been set.
The investigation, part of the national Project Safe Childhood , involved the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Details of the investigation were not released.
