ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A repeat drunk driver is in jail Sunday, accused of leading sheriff's deputies on a wild chase through southwest Albuquerque.
Metro court officials say 48-year-old Cristanos Garcia has four drunk-driving convictions on his record.
When a sheriff's deputy pulled him over near Coors and Barcelona in southwest Albuquerque Saturday, Garcia allegedly cursed and took off. He was speeding northbound on Coors, then turning around and speeding southbound, hitting traffic barriers, fences and drainage pipes until coming to rest on a set of pipes.
A K-9 helped track him down.
Garcia was arrested and blew above a .16 on a breath test.
A metro court judge set bond at $50,000 Sunday.
