Medical investigators have confirmed the body found near Tucumcari last week is that of a local woman who disappeared about three weeks early.
The body of Kimberly Draman, 53, was found Friday about 12 miles northeast of Tucumcari near the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and Quay County Road AC.
The Office of the Medical Investigator reported the identity Monday but is not yet releasing the cause of death or estimated time of death.
Police said Draman was last seen on Sept. 13 with Frank Keller, 45. He was arrested five days later while driving Draman's car in Las Vegas, Nev., and was held for violating the conditions of his bonded release from the Quay County jail on a charge of possession methamphetamine.
Keller is reported to be a convicted sex offender.
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, but no one has been charge.
