Rapist admits guilt in near-fatal attack

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man who raped and beat a woman nearly to death two years ago changed his plea to guilty Wednesday afternoon.
A District Court judge immediately sentenced Ryan Estrada to 22 years in prison to be followed by probation for anywhere from five years to life.
DNA linked Estrada to the attack on a woman in her northeast Albuquerque apartment in August 2010.
The victim was raped, tortured and beaten so badly she no longer can speak.
