Police tie truck to Walmart gun robbery

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - There has been a big break in the Christmas Day burglary at Walmart , involving more than $30,000 in merchandise, five rifles and a shotgun.
    
Los Lunas police say they have tracked down the getaway truck through tips and tire tracks and now they believe they know who did it.
    
Police say they have identified the four burglars and are working to get search and arrest warrants.
     
For now, they have only released information about one of them, 27-year-old Gary Wilson.
    
Police say he owns the getaway truck they seized Monday.
    
Pictures show a truck parked in front of Wilson’s Albuquerque apartment complex that looks just like the one in a surveillance video the night of the Walmart burglary.
    
The same video shows the suspects involved in the Walmart heist, before the heist took place.
   
Police say tips started coming in and they got a license plate number that led them to the truck's owner, Gary Wilson, and the truck.
   
Police seized the truck and say tire tracks left at the scene match the tires on Wilson’s truck.
    
However, when questioned by police, Wilson denied any involvement in the store burglary Christmas Day.
    
For now police are calling Wilson a person of interest.

The investigation continues.    

”We're real close. We're actually executing a search warrant as we speak right now on one of the individuals and I expect arrest warrants to be following up pretty soon,” an officer said.

Police want to recover all the stolen items, especially the guns.
   
Police are asking people to call them if they recently bought the guns or new items from Wilson, including iPod touches, laptop computers, video games, camcorders and cameras.
    
Police also say Wilson took off the roll bar from his truck to make it look less like the one in the video and then sold the roll bar.
