FARMINGTON, N.M. - Farmington detectives want to talk with two people about the murder of a man last week behind a grocery store.
Sgt. Bruce Holiday said they are looking for Darrell Jim, 38, and Lorena "Winky" Jackson, 49, to ask them about the beating death of Robert Bustos, 47.
Bustos’ body was found Wednesday morning behind the Safeway on East Main in an area where police say homeless people often camp out.
Holiday said they believe Jim and Jackson were at the camp around the same time Bustos was killed.
The motive for the killing is still unclear, but Holiday said robbery is a possibility.
Surveillance cameras showed Bustos making a purchase at Safeway before he was murdered. Holiday declined to say what Bustos bought citing the ongoing investigation.
“We’re still processing crime scene evidence and stuff like that, but these are two interviews that we really need to get done,” Holiday said.
He said they released their names because they have been unable to locate the two.
Anyone with information on Jim or Jackson’s whereabouts call dispatch at 334-6622 or Crime Stoppers at 334-8477.
