ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A woman accused of helping to hide two brothers wanted for murder made her first court appearance on Friday.
Charlene Baldizan is charged with helping Andrew "Smiley" Gallegos and Joe Lawrence Gallegos hide from police for more than a week.
The brothers are charged with killing Adrian Burns then setting him and his car on fire in the Rio Grande bosque near Bernardo south of Belen on Nov. 12.
U.S. marshals and New Mexico State Police caught the brothers and Baldizan hiding out in an Albuquerque motel on Tuesday.
Police say another woman at the motel also helped the brothers. However she has not been charged with aiding or harboring a felon due to a state law that exempts certain close relatives from that crime, State Police said.
