Police offer holiday safety tips

While holiday shopping, remember to lock your car. Also don’t leave gifts and other valuables in sight, instead put them in the trunk

At Coronado Mall, new signs are there to remind shoppers to do the same thing with their valuables.

Albuquerque police is advising women to leave their purses at home during the holidays.

The list of safety tips also cautions people to avoid panhandlers, calling their behavior unpredictable.

It also says to give money to groups that help the homeless, instead of giving aid directly to panhandlers.
