ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two more arrests have been made in a fatal shooting earlier this week that now appears to be a case of murder.
Officials say the deceased, 26-year-old Jose Nunez Flores, was part of a trio that stormed an apartment intending to rob the people inside.
He ended up dead.
It all started Monday around 1:30 a.m. at the Bear Creek Apartments near Gibson and San Mateo.
An informant told officers that Nunez, 30-year-old Doralee Urban and 25-year-old Adam Ortiz all had a plan to rob a man who lives inside an apartment there.
Witnesses say the three, with masks over their faces, forced their way into the apartment.
Neighbors then heard gunshots and saw the trio run down the stairs.
Nunez, who was shot, did not make it very far and died in the courtyard.
Ortiz and urban took off without him.
Another man, Nathan Herrera, was also found shot about a block away.
According to court documents, Herrera lived in the apartment and was one of the intended robbery victims.
He survived.
At this point it is unclear who shot Herrera and who shot Nunez.
Right now Urban and Ortiz, who escaped unharmed in all this, are behind bars charged with attempted armed robbery, attempted burglary and other charges.
No one is charged with murder right now.
When asked if anyone will be charged with the murder, police say this case is still under investigation.
All of the people involved in this case have criminal histories.
Their criminal pasts include drug charges, fleeing from authorities and burglary and robbery.
