Police looking into death of NM student

PORTALES, N.M. (AP) - Portales police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old Eastern New Mexico University student as a homicide.

Police say Angel Vale of Roswell was found outside her Portales residence Thursday evening.

Deputy Police Chief Lonnie Berry says there's evidence of head trauma.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Police say she was a student and also worked as a waitress.

Berry says she had spoken to her mother Thursday afternoon.
