ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man accused of going on a rampage outside an Albuquerque mall is now in jail
Investigators say Justin Cordova and a passenger, Brenda Sedillo, took off in a stolen van Sunday afternoon after Coronado Center security caught them stopping women with purses and bags.
Detectives say Cordova smashed six cars in the process and also tried to run over a police officer, hurting his foot.
The van ended up going through a fence and getting stuck, before the two fled on foot.
The suspects also threw out a stolen gun and had lots of stolen property in the van.
”There's from what I understand some very high dollar purses, a lot of bags inside of that vehicle. From what I understand Louis Vuitton was mentioned,” Sgt. Ferris Simons said.
The two were finally caught near ABQ Uptown.
Detectives say Cordova later told them he would have shot two of the officers chasing him if he could.
Cordova faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault against a police officer.
Charges are pending against Sedillo.
