ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque Police have positively identified two more women Monday in the mysterious photographs released last week in connection to the West Mesa murder mystery. Investigators are still searching for four more.

Police have asked media to not show the pictures of the two women at the families' requests.

Police said both women are alive. One woman lives in Espanola. Police have not contacted her but are hoping to interview her soon. Police are having a difficult time finding the other woman. Sgt. Trish Hoffman with APD said she has a warrant out for her arrest on an unrelated charge.

Another woman, Christina Leyba , was identified over the weekend. Police said family members contacted them to report Leyba had passed away a few years ago due to a medical condition.

Investigators still won't disclose where the photographs came from and why they are interested in finding and interviewing these women.

"Whether that leads to any indication that they were involved or if they knew any of the victims of West Mesa, it's important to us to follow up on any leads, even though it might not lead up to any actual knowledge," said Hoffman.

Police believe the women in the photographs may have run in the same circles as the 11 women found buried in the West Mesa nearly two years ago. All the victims had ties to drugs and prostitution.
