ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The FBI is still investigating if a bank robbery suspect arrested late last week, is the same man who robbed a string of banks earlier this month.
Sheldon Weisman, 55, seen here after a 2009 arrest for auto theft was arrested Friday, accused of robbing the Wells Fargo at Wyoming and Montgomery that same day.
He matches the description of the man who robbed a bank at Eubank and Montgomery March 13th, at Carlisle and Constitution March 8th and at another bank in Santa Fe March 4th.
The FBI sent an alert two days before Weisman's arrest last week, warning of a possible serial bank robber.
So far, Weisman is only charged with Friday’s bank robbery.
Monday he made his first appearance in federal court.
