ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man with a lengthy rap sheet pleads guilty to a number of charges after causing an Amber Alert situation in New Mexico.
Fermin Saavedra pleaded guilty Friday morning.
Police say Saavedra and a woman stormed into a home in Albuquerque two years ago and kidnapped the woman’s 2-year-old son – which prompted an Amber Alert.
The woman turned herself in with the young boy and police later arrested Saavedra.
Saavedra will remain in custody until March, after that he will wear an ankle monitoring bracelet for a year and be on two years probation.
