ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Southern New Mexico Correctional facility is on lockdown after the stabbing of an inmate Monday night.

Authorities say Jeremiah Ordonez, 33, was taken to an El Paso Hospital after being stabbed multiple times by at least one other inmate in the recreational yard.

The facility will remain on lockdown until officials believe it is safe to return to normal.

So far, investigators do not have a motive but say those responsible will face criminal charges.
