ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - We spoke to neighbors whose normally quiet community has now turned into a crime scene after Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nehemiah Griego, 15, for shooting and killing  his parents and three young siblings at his home in Albuquerque’s South Valley.

It has been more than 24 hours since deputies first got to the home down Long Lane, but the scene has not changed much as investigators continue to camp out there to figure out exactly what happened.

Those that live just houses down from the crime scene say they are shocked and saddened.

For many of them, sheriff's deputies arriving one car after another just before 9:30 Saturday night was the first sign something had gone wrong.

Since learning, the 15-year-old boy, who lived at the home, shot and killed two adults and three young children there neighbors we spoke with say they are heartbroken.

“We kind of knew something was going on [Saturday] night, and it's just sad. It is disheartening,” Jerry Crites says.

"It is a shock that something like that happens that close to your house,” Peter Gomez says.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office says it's working with the District Attorney's office and the Medical Examiner's office as they continue this investigation.
