SANTA FE (KRQE) - A Santa Fe man suspected of killing a witness who tried to break up a domestic disturbance was arrested early Saturday in Albuquerque.

Victoriano Gonzales, 21, died from a stab wound to his throat at the scene of the disturbance, the Butterfly Springs Mobile Home Park in Pojoaque, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.

His companion, Santiago Cordova, also of Santa Fe, is recovering from a stab wound to his back.

The men attempted to intervene in a domestic dispute at about 7:45 p.m. Friday when both were stabbed by Adrian Gonzales, 32, sheriff's deputies reported.

The suspect is not related to the victim, they added.

Adrian Gonzales was spotted on Interstate 25 and taken into custody at about 3 a.m. Saturday when a combined force of Santa Fe, Sandoval and Bernalillo county deputies and Albuquerque police stopped his car near the San Mateo Boulevard exit in Albuquerque.

He is now jailed in Santa Fe on an open count of murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
