ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A woman, who was badly burned last summer when her ex-boyfriend allegedly set her on fire has died.
Investigators believe Ray Pergerson had been stalking 49-year-old Genevieve Fay on June 20 when he threw flammable liquid on her and lit it .
Pergeson, 54, was captured five days later.
Fay died Thursday at the UNM Hospital Burn Center.
Pergerson, originally indicted for attempted murder and arson, is now charged with murder.
On Saturday Metropolitan Court Judge Daniel Ramczyk raised Pergeson's $200,000 bond.
"Mr. Pergeson, the allegations in the complaint are extremely serious," Ramczyk said. "I find you a danger to the community, and I'm going to set your bond at $1 million cash-only."
Bernalillo County sheriff's investigators allege Pergeson killed Fay out of anger because she wanted to end their relationship.
He is accused of throwing the liquid on Fay as she say in a car. Fay suffered burns to 90 percent of her body.
