LAS CRUCES (AP) - Deputies in Dona Ana County are looking for a Mesquite woman after her year-old son tested positive for cocaine.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Kelly Jameson said Wednesday that 30-year-old Crystal Giron was charged with child abuse this week and a warrant issued for her arrest.
Investigators say they were tipped off that the toddler had possibly been exposed to cocaine while Giron was abusing drugs.
Anyone with information on Giron's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's department. She's described as 5-feet-tall, weighing 120 pounds with dark brown eyes and brown hair. She could be in the Canutillo area.
