TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M. (KRQE) - A Truth or Consequences girl believed to have been abducted by her uncle may be on her way back to New Mexico with her father.

An Amber Alert had been issued Thursday for Safrina Ugsang, 15, who was last seen just after midnight that morning leaving her home with her uncle.

Police said they believed Salgado, 48, was taking the girl to California and that there was concern the she might become the victim of a sex crime.

Now New Mexico State Police say Ugsang is with her father Robert and 13-year-old sister Vanessa on their way back to New Mexico from California.

They're driving a 2000 pearl-white Lincoln Town Car with California plate DPS8286.

Police aren't sure if Salgado is with them.

The Amber Alert remains in effect, and police are on the lookout for all four.
