SANTA FE (KRQE) - Authorities announced Friday the extradition of Noe Torres from Mexico is in the final stages.
They expect him to be returned within 30 days.
Torres, 33, is accused of being part of a gang that fired several bullets into a Clovis home in September 2005 killing Carlos Perez, 10.
Torres was captured in Mexico in January after sending a letter to Gov. Susana Martinez proclaiming his innocence and asking for her help
"He wanted me to send him a message through the media," Martinez said at the time. "Well, Noe, here's my message through the media: I don't help child killers."
Torres has 15 days to appeal the extradition.
He is facing first-degree murder and other charges.
