MDC guard accused of sex with inmate

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Another guard at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center is accused of having sex with an inmate, which New Mexico law considers rape.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department says it intercepted letters between Marsha Griego and an inmate that indicated the two were having sex, which Griego denies.

She was booked into the detention center on Tuesday, and then released. She was fired from the detention center several months ago after the allegations surfaced.

Deputies didn't release the inmate's name.

Last month, a grand jury indicted another female MDC guard on three counts of rape in a similar case. The guard, Reyna Lujan, was reportedly pregnant with an inmate's child.
