ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man sought in the murder of a woman in Bosque Farms Friday morning was caught that evening near a relative's home in Los Lunas.
New Mexico State Police reported Marvin Martinez was taken into custody without incident at about 8 p.m.
At midday Saturday he was at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque awaiting a mental-health evaluation before being booked into jail.
By late Saturday afternoon he'd been booked into the Valencia County Adult Detention Center charged with first-degree murder.
Two Bosque Farms police officers responded to a home on Manzanita Drive just before noon Friday and found the body of Ashley Roulerson, 20. State Police said there were obvious signs of traumatic injury but provided no details.
An unnamed woman was at the home when officers arrived and was interview by investigators. Her role in events is not yet publicly known.
Martinez, said to be in his 50s, was soon named a person of interest in the case.
Police have yet to release additional details on a motive for the murder and any previous connection between Martinez and the victim.
